Ours started in 1987 when our founder, the late Professor James Mulwana and his wife Sarah founded the company and named it JESA – the first two letters (sounds) of each one of their names. Dairy farming is done on 600Ha of land on which a herd of 650 Friesian animals are raised under modern animal husbandry. All of the milk from the farm goes to the dairy which is also located on the farm. This is something unique about JESA, because all of the other local dairy plants rely 100% on purchased raw milk.
