TAACC, The Apac Anti-Corruption Coalition is a Coalition of 150 subscribed members (CBO, NGOs, Media Houses and individual activists) who share a common objective of fighting all forms of corruption and human rights abuses in Lango sub region. TAACC is one of the Regional Anti Corruption Coalition (RACC) affiliated to Anti Corruption Coalition Uganda (ACCU). The Coalition got registered on 12th August 2003 with the national NGO Board (Reg. No: S.5914/4566) and with the Registrar of Companies Kampala on the 9th Day of September 2003 (No. 60255) as a company limited by Guarantee. It has a board of directors elected from its membership, a secretariat of 8 experienced staff and a fairly equipped spacious rented office. TAACC reaches the grassroots level through a team of 216 trained community Independent Budget Monitors (IBMs) in three districts of Apac, Kole and Oyam.

  • Holding service providers accountable to citizens

    This aims at empowering the citizens to access information, monitor and engage duty bearers to provide better services to them. Most citizens do not understand that they make direct contribution through taxes to run public affairs. They are reluctant to fulfill their constitutional duties to demand for better services and the responsibility to fight corruption and misuse of public resources. TAACC is increasing pressure from citizens engagement for improved service delivery and accountability.

  • Partnerships and Networks with Public Accountability Institu

    This aims at strengthening the capacity of local anti corruption activists and agencies to provide effective oversight roles on public service delivery. Notable institutions include; Local Government Public Accounts Committees PTFund_logo(LGPAC), Parliamentary PACs, Parliamentary Local Government Accounts Committee, Inspectorate of Government (IG), Office of Auditor General (OAG), Criminal Intelligent Investigation Department (CIID), etc. These also include non state Actors (NSA) demanding and advocating for change and improvements at the local and national levels.

  • Promotion and Protection of Human Rights:

    This aims at establishing a vibrant civil society network able to articulate, promote, observe, defend human rights protection and access to justice in the project target area. It is also intended to build/strengthen the civic competence of the weak and vulnerable people at community level in the target areas to enable them defend and demand their rights. The capacity of HRDs, organizations and individuals will be strengthened to articulate, promote, observe, defend and demand for the protection of their human rights.
